To
comprehend the mythic changes in the passage from youth to old
age, we gather songs of transformation from Ovid’s epic
poem, The
Metamorphoses. We call upon the archetypes, debate proportion
and beauty with the Greeks and review the Romans’ conception of
authority and immortality. Challenging Michelangelo’s heroic intensity,
we consider divinity as expressed through the body. Finally, we
conjure a future where we align with
sacred geometries and connect to the infinite.
In
this project, we reconfigure history to express the time and timelessness
we feel in our bones. We recapture the power of age that is lost
in our youth obsessed culture. This is our personal Stonehenge, Acropolis and
Sistine Chapel. |
